Wide range of facilities and medical services
More than 60% of people over the age of 60 suffer from some grade of hearing loss. In India, the statistics suggest 1/12th of the whole population. While not many recognize they have a problem, using a hearing instrument at an early stage can help resolve many challenges.
An audiometry assessment is a painless, non-invasive hearing test that evaluates an individual’s ability to hear diverse sounds, pitches, or frequencies. The purpose is to establish an individual’s range of hearing. It is most often performed when hearing loss is suspected. The analysis is typically performed by an “audiologist,” in a soundproof room.

Why Audiometry is performed?
An Audiometry is performed to determine how well you can hear. This may be done as part of routine screening or in response to a noticeable loss of hearing. The common causes of hearing loss are birth defects, chronic ear infections, inherited conditions like otosclerosis, an injury to the ear, inner ear diseases, regular exposure to loud sounds, ruptured eardrum, etc.
What does it show?
Audiometry tests can detect the extent as well as the type of hearing loss. It helps us to know whether you have Sensorineural hearing loss (damage to the nerve or cochlea) or Conductive hearing loss (Damage to the eardrum or ossicle bones).
Does it need any preparation?
There is no special preparation for the test.
